NAMING YOUR BOAT

 A short name ensures clarity and ease during VHF transmissions. 

​​​

  • Choose a name that’s one to three words long.

  • Not more than 33 Characters

  • The name needs to be easy to read and repeat in emergency communications.

  • Don’t name the boat after emergency situations, such as “man overboard.”

  • Don't use Obscene or Profane language
